The Complete Works Of The Energy Dynamic Model

1975 - 2024.

This volume contains all four EDM books, and examines how the modern zeitgeist affects us as human beings.

They examine:

Is our focus on money and success wise given we are human beings?

Does this focus give an accurate measurement of contentment?

If not, what are we focussing on that for?

How can we become aware of this and so start to thrive as individuals?

What is the best way to begin to create a better world?

'I’ve just finished reading The Energy Dynamic Model by my friend Jennifer Foster, and it’s truly a remarkable book from a truly remarkable person!

I hope to do justice to Jennifer’s work by highlighting how she shares a deeply personal and insightful perspective on the ways modern society shapes our mental health. Her metaphor of the “head in the cupboard” profoundly illustrates how we often perceive and react only to what is directly in front of us, as though our worldview is confined to the cupboard. This brilliantly encapsulates how societal systems limit our perspectives and condition us to respond to immediate demands rather than seeing the bigger picture of our lives.

A few years ago, Jen introduced me to the Energy Dynamic Model and the concept of the “stick self,” which she describes so powerfully in this book. The “stick self” represents the way societal pressures reduce us to a stripped-down, one-dimensional version of ourselves, disconnected from our true potential and the richness of our inner lives. Jen explains how this happens as we conform to the expectations of modern systems that prioritise productivity and compliance over individuality and creativity. But she also emphasizes the power of imagination as a tool to break free from this narrow identity. Through imagination, we can reframe our perspectives, connect with our authentic selves, and open up possibilities for growth and fulfillment that we may not have thought possible.

In The Energy Dynamic Model, Jennifer explores how these limitations impact our energy, emotions, and sense of purpose. The model provides a clear framework for recognising these influences and transforming the way we engage with the world. By understanding the dynamics of energy flow and the ways we adapt to modern pressures, Jennifer offers practical steps for reclaiming authenticity, strength, and contentment.

This isn’t just theory, it’s grounded in Jennifer’s lived experience and her firsthand understanding of how society affects mental health. It’s a guide not just for survival, but for flourishing in today’s world.

Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing your wisdom and for creating a resource that will help so many navigate life with greater clarity and purpose. If you’re looking for an eye-opening and empowering read, I highly recommend The Energy Dynamic Model.

I will be using Jennifer's EDM model in my client work.'

The book contains:

EVIDENCE

  • Case studies illustrating how this model developed and what the ideas are based on.

  • The four patterns that were observed and explain all human interaction.

  • Resources that can help people understand themselves

  • Why we as people need to realise that we are the art form ourselves and our daily life is our art work. We, as individuals, are creating the society we live in by our actions, and must realise that just by a few of us understanding this information and acting on it, will be a powerful mechanism for positive change.

RESEARCH

  • Undertaken by researcher, Evie Jacob BA, data gathered up by using the EDM Tower in controlled situations shows how useful this resource can be to help people explain and understand how they are operating at the moment and how they can change this so they start to feel and become more human again.

STEP BY STEP TEXT BOOK AND EXERCISES (' The I In The Storm')

  • Easy, simple, fun and friendly, this guide shows you how to focus in an optimal way which will mean that you will be able to succeed in the  modern world and thrive at the same time. But most importantly, if many people start to at least even be aware of this, then the system itself will start to move around these people, making day to day life more human friendly and ethical for all.

PHILOSOPHY (' The Answer To Everything' - a one act play)

  • For the more academic and creative this examines the fundamental laws that govern how we work in modern society. Exploring the idea of human energy, this play dives deeply into how society has manipulated people into operating in a manner that does not serve their best interests or humanity at large.
